New Poem for Stuart Ross's 2017 Inaugural Poem Project
As 2016 came to a close and we all prepared to bite down on a hard stick with uncertainty for 2017, I was "happy" to write a poem for Stuart Ross's 2017 Inaugural Poem project. I had been stalled with new poems for a bit, but this prompt got me writing, and in about an hour and 30 minutes (shhh...secret), I had something I didn't hate. You can read this, my latest poem Study the Universe and reveal the reason optimists stopped searching, or S.T.U.A.R.T.R.O.S.S. right here.
Stuart authored of one of my favourite poetry books of 2016 A Sparrow Came Down Resplendent, and his explanation for the 2017 Inaugural Poem Project is as follows:
With just 17 days left until Donald Trump takes office, you still have time to enter a poem. Or, just read some great work by poets like Kathryn Mockler, A.G. Pasquella, Jacob McArthur Mooney, Gary Barwin, and one of my fave poets out there, Jim Smith.
